Portraits!

Lillie's 9 month portraits!
(The dress is from my friend, Wendy. SO Perfect for my Lilac Princess)

My girls. The photographer tried so hard to get Emma to have a "pretty smile" but after a while, we accepted the "Emma" smile. This truly shows her personality.

I just LOVE this one of Lillie. He actually cropped Emma out for me so I could get a print of it!

This is James' mom's dress from when she was a child. Emma took a photo in it at about 5 months, and now it's Lillie's turn.

My mom made this dress for me when I was little. We did not find it until recently so we do not have a picture of Emma wearing it, but Lillie wore it so cute!!! (the colors are corrected on the final product!)

"I Think I look like a Rock Star"

So it begins... Emma has now decided that she would like to pick out her own clothes. Luckily right now it is only pajamas. (I still am very particular about what she wears when we go places) So last night, she took her bath and headed into her room and came out wearing this...

Then she said, "I Think I look like a Rock Star."

This phrase could have come from Hannah Montana's song, "I might even be a rock star.." But whatever it came from, I thought it was quite hilarious!!!

Lillie is doing GREAT! She had her 9 month appointment this week. (She is 9 months TODAY!!!) She weighs 16.11 pounds and is 26 inches long. This puts her in the 20th percentile for height and weight. (MUCH smaller than Emma. Emma weighed 18 pounds at 6 months) But she is thriving and doing well so I am pleased. Her doctor just thinks she will be short like me, which is a good thing!

Here are some other photos of the girls over the past few weeks.

We went to a Build A Bear Birthday Party last weekend. This party was SO fun! The kids each got a bear (animal), and an outfit. They got to stuff, brush and dress their bears. Emma LOVED it! (Hers is named Hannah- Yes after Hannah Montana- see a trend in her life at the moment???)

(listening to the 'rules')

waiting to "STUFF MY BEAR"- with her Hula outfit all picked out.

Emma had been to Build a Bear before so she knew what to do next. Need to give them a shower!!!

Hannah all dressed- HULA HANNAH

All the kids from the party outside the store. SO CUTE!!!

After the party at Build A Bear we went to the food court to ride the carousel and eat Ice Cream cake!

Lillie has found the "Tupperware" cabinet. I think it is so cute when they start learning where things are in the house. This is truly the ONLY cabinet she goes to when she is exploring around the kitchen. And so far, the only thing she wants are the lids. (I know this will change!!!)

Lillie also LOVES Mickey. She will crawl so fast to get to him and crawl over him. He is such a good dog, he just lays there and lets her do it. She will pull toys out of his mouth and he will nibble them back. When he is outside, she will go to the door and look out at him and hit the door and laugh. It is so cute...

Emma is sweet to her sister. Last night we were outside on the playground (after the sun had gone down a little so it was not too HOT) and Emma was pushing Lillie in the swing. Lillie was just looking at Emma with such adoring eyes. It was so sweet.

As I posted the blog, I forgot to mention... YES Lillie is pulling up on things! (not much she can pull up on since she is short, but there are a few things she can use to stand) Here are some photos of her doing it:

SO PROUD OF HERSELF!!!

We went to San Antonio a few weekends ago to see everyone and I took the girls out to the cemetery where my Dad's parents are buried. As many of you know, Lillie is named after my dad's mother, Lila. Knowing Lillie or I will never meet her, I wanted some type of connection for Lillie later in life to tell her her about her name. So I took this picture of her. I think it is so cute. Lillie was born on the same day that Lila passed away- 30 years between the two.

As we were on our way to the cemetery I was explaining to Emma what a cemetery was. in 3 year old terms, this is what she knows. When someone goes to heaven, we get to put a fancy rock in this special grass and put their name on it. This rock reminds us they are in heaven and we can go visit the rock to say hi. She knows that rock is GaGa's parents and she loved looking at all of the flowers on the "rocks". She will tell us about the rock and talk about people who go to heaven.

We will take the girls tomorrow for portraits. Look for new photos posted soon!

New PJ's, She is a BIG kid now

I take pictures of Emma and Lillie all the time, look at them and smile. Tonight Emma got new pajamas from KK and I took this picture of her and realized she is turning into a KID now. She is no longer a little girly girl. These PJ's are size 6 and in the BIG kid clothes section. Her face is growing up so fast and her hair is pulled up just like I do mine after a bath (in a half bun).
Man, I just got sad that my Emma is growing up.

At dinner tonight, Ashlyn and Emma were having a conversation about going to Kindergarten when they are 5. Both girls knew the name of the school they will be going to when they start Kindergarten. It was so sweet to watch the 2 of them carry on a little conversation.
This summer has been so neat to be home watching her grow up in front of my eyes. I hope I can stop and cherish these memories each day.

Lillie is crawling... in her own sort of way, and Golf anyone?

Lillie decided this week she would learn to crawl. As Emma states it, she is doing the Army crawl. it is the cutest thing! She gets around pretty good. We are still safe as she is not ready to pull up yet so she is still just moving around, but here are a few videos showing her move around!

Has anyone seen High School Musical 2? Well, in our house, we have seen it like 1 million times, I am NOT kidding! One of the girl characters in the movie, Sharpay, plays golf during the movie. Emma has decided she needs to learn to play golf. So here is a picture of Emma with her new set of clubs. I spared no expense purchasing this set for her! ($4.97 at Walmart) She will be quite the sight if she ever goes to the driving range.
