Emma has been doing gymnastics for about 2 years now. She goes every week on Tuesday evenings and we love to watch her in class. Not only is gymnastics teaching her skills in tumbling etc, it is also teaching her listening, sharing and social skills. Last Saturday was her annual May Fest. This is like a recital for gymnastics. They have the students rotate though many stations where they show off what they have learned that year. Emma showed off her jumps on the trampoline, cartwheels, running to the vault, skills on the rings and a ‘routine’ on the balance beam. I can now see where these 2 years have practice are starting to pay off! We were amazed at her talent! The balance beam routine was by far her best of the day. The start on the ground, mount the beam, balance, walk, then turn to jump off. She did not even have a coach standing next to her for balance and she never fell off or lost balance! The gym classes are broken down into groups by color based on skill level. Emma moved in to the yellow group (beginner) in August and now she is being promoted into the green group (intermediate) for the summer/fall groups! We are so proud of her.

We bought the girls a new Rainbow Playground for the back yard! We started shopping a while ago and did some research on different ones, then I found out if you go to the Rainbow place, you ask to see the clearance models in the back of the building, and they are WAY cheaper! So that is what we did. We went last Saturday to the Rainbow place, spotted this one, and bought it on the spot. (after the weeks of research we knew this is the one we wanted) Then the next thing was explaining to Emma that her new playground would come in 1 week. She actually did pretty good waiting and asking what day it would come. (home day, after nap) Friday night she knew tomorrow was playground day, so she got out paper and started making invitations for her playground party. (she wants to write letters ALL the time, so we wrote everyone’s names on the invitations) Saturday came, we had to then deliver the invitations and wait for after nap. She knew it was home day, playground day. She willingly put herself down for a nap, and right on schedule, when she woke up they were already here putting it together. Then as soon as they were done, she wanted everyone over NOW!!! KK, GaGa, Guncle, Aunt Karen, Ashlyn and Tyler came over for playground PARTY and dinner. It was a wonderful way to spend our first day with our new playground!

Now for the poodle skirts. Our church is collecting shoes for orphans to send to other countries. It is such a neat ministry because it allows the kids to get involved and truly understand what they are helping. If you ask Emma, she says, Pastor Ed says to bring shoes so he can give them to kids who don’t have shoes. I think she really gets it. So today we brought shoes and socks for SOCK HOP SUNDAY. So there we go, sock hop Sunday means, wear 50’s clothes and only SOCKS (no shoes) and bring socks and shoes to donate. It was SO fun! Of course I had to get in on the fun, so Emma, Lillie and I all had poodle skirts, James wore his jeans rolled and white socks and we had a great time giving our shoes. (some may remember Lillie’s poodle skirt from KK’s 50th birthday party a couple of years ago. It was actually worn by Emma. Who would have thought Lillie would ever get to wear it again?!?!) Lillie was the hit of the church. People could not believe I had a poodle skirt on my sweet tiny baby!

When we went to buy the shoes to donate, Emma was VERY specific on which ones we needed to buy. Size 11 from her (her size), tiny ones from Lillie, big ones from daddy and socks from Mommy. I thought that was so sweet that she actually wanted to get the correct sizes from each of us so that it truly meant something.

Lillie is always playing now! She loves toys and most of all SPOONS. She is such a sweet baby! She is eating most anything we give to her and her favorite thing are arrowroot cookies or biter biscuits! She is such a good sport when we drag her everywhere with us to Emma's things, church and other places. As long as we have her toys, she is a happy baby! We are so lucky to have Lillie!!!
Well, that is about all for now. We are looking forward to SUMMER coming up so soon and will have many adventures of our various plans as they happen!

wow, you have been busy! Love the playground....looks like a ton of fun. I went to CFA tonight and I thought of you....there is a Friday night in June that they are having 50's night. If you dress in 50's clothing you get a free milkshake!!! :) How cute would that be if your family walked in all dressed up like you did for church!
